P and P Parades.

Yesterday was a busy day in Japan. (BY THE WAY, THE FOLLOWING PHOTOS IN THIS POST MAY NOT BE WORK SAFE.) In Sendai, there was a Saint Patrick's Day celebration going on. For the most part, it had a few glitches but overall it was a rocking event. The food was less than mediocre but the beer was great. Only two of the musical events were any good (an excellent Bluegrass quintet of young tweenies and the event's host bellowing out the ballads) the rest were a bunch of Clapton clones crying out crap. But fortunately, some of the Shaft crew were pumping out the tunes and drowning out the crooners. Due to the infinite wisdom of the Chief of Police, the parade was postponed by 5 hours, much to the surprise and chagrin of everyone. Those few who stuck around had to now brave the elements since the sun was setting and the wind was picking up. But a jocular time was had by all.

Simultaneously, while all this action was going, a Parade of a different kind was taking place in Tokyo. Since I couldn't be in two places at once, I had my roving reporter (Mark) do his best Jimmy Olsen impression and take pics of the Iron Phallus parade that I have previously commented on. (ONCE AGAIN, MAY I INTERJECT AND WARN YOU THAT FOLLOWING PHOTOS IN THIS POST MAY NOT BE WORK SAFE.) I will let the pictures say their 1,000 words apiece, but I may interject a few snippets of wisdom.

I will alternate pictures of each parade so that when you hear your boss coming, you can switch to the innocuous photo of drunken Irish-wannabies and look at the Pink Phalluses on your own time. I'll leave it up to you to figure out which pics belong to which parade.

Here they are in all their glory:

Mikki, Mikie and Hisako.

A nurse about to take a pulse.

Irish eyes are smiling.

Ordering a drink.

Ordering a dink.

Man's best friend.

Woman's best friend?

Several pictures of dogs:

There is something really very wrong with these next few pics:

A few interesting costumes and other stuff.

Enjoy the Parades, and I hope to see you again next year!
